The Rubio Water Bottle
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:57:07 AM »
I thought this was a brilliant tactic to turn the tables on the libs going on about Rubio's sip of water during his SOTU reply. His PAC is selling Rubio water bottles. :)

Rubio had a shabby and nervous delivery.  That's why the water bottle is an issue.

i am not a member of the rubio cult, although i believe him to be a likely candidate for the next presidential election, but to critisize someone for taking a drink is nuts.

The notion that this is, or should be, an issue, is so far beyond ridiculous I am amazed it is being seriously entertained.

Rubio has shown himself not to be serious with his illegal immigration amnesty & citizen buggering program.

That said, the water bottle deal is as asinine as thinking someone whiter than I am is going to be the GOP's Great Brown Hope and lead the replacement population of hispanics to victory in the White House.

Agua fresca not so much.

The GOP needs to drop this line of thinking like a hot rock. It's just going to strengthen the Dem base and piss off us.

I don't know enough about Rubio to be a fan or a hater. His PR people doing the water bottle thing though, is still brilliant to me because it's exactly the thing the "hip, young dem" PR people would do to turn the tables on a story like this coming from the Republican side.

If Republicans want to stay semi-relevant, they'd better learn how to have a little fun and do stuff that attracts younger voters.

Rubio didn't handle the water bottle very well.  If you need a drink, you do it quickly rather than hesitating and making an issue of it.  It makes you look inept when he really was just nervous and cares.

Perhaps with the experience Ronald Reagan had in front of the camera, Rubio might have been able to please your uppercrust sensitivities.

Rubio--and Rand Paul with him--has other problems--immigration policy leaps to mind--but a sudden thirst is not one of them.  Our leftist media are slowly devolving into a second childhood.

Yeah, too bad about that.  I had hope for Rand.  I never trusted Rubio to be anything other than a GWB who borrowed a vowel. Ted Cruz has been good from an attitude POV so far.  I am just waiting for him to rip off the latex mask to reveal John McCain's long-lost twin brother so the last shred of my hope for any GOP policritter can be wrested from my soul and stomped to death with patent-leather golf shoes.
