Did a little .22 plinkin' today with my brother and nephew
« on: February 22, 2013, 09:01:52 PM »
Good to see there are still 11 year olds you can turn loose with a gun without needing to worry. My little nephew lives on a dairy farm in Maine. We did a little shooting with Erica's Ruger bearcat and my Beretta bobcat and then he took one of my .22 rifles and went looking for rabbits.

Later, he was on the phone with his mom and we learned that his grandad had had to go recue the bull that got stuck out on the ice. You don't hear that dilemma in Texas very often.

Here he is with Erica's bearcat

Ain't much more fun than a good .22 rifle or pistol and a brick of ammo on a nice day...

Gotta be able to hit the side of the barn, before you can move on.

Yeah, and it only costs $75 now, if you can find it  ;/   =(
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin

I handled one once.  Very small for me.  Which means it's probably perfect for the half grown.
