Riverview Sales in East Windsor, CT, was ordered to pull all of their firearms from the shelves and has been under BATFE audit for over two months. They're still allowed to sell ammo and accessories, but the FFL has been suspended. Nobody knows if they're going to recover from the loss of business.
They're not discussing the reason, which is understandable. Some have speculated on some connection to Sandy Hook, but given the distance and circumstances I don't think that's it. My guess would be that somebody fudged a 4473 and tried to sell to a prohibited person.
I had no particular love for that shop. They had a pushy, blowhard salesman there who made ridiculous claims like the 10/22 was used to kill guard dogs in Vietnam, etc, and they seemed hard pressed to offer over $200 in trade for anything from a S&W Model 10 to an H&K USP. I quit going there for any serious reason and only stop by occasionally as my preferred barber shop is next to it. However, I certainly don't think they should be driven out of business.
