Whatever you think of the music, he was an amazingly talented man.

The Slayer has become the slain?

(I'm sorry, I couldn't help that. )

He hasn't been touring with them for a year or two now since he got necrotizing fasciitis from a spider bite.  I wonder if this was somehow related, he was quite young and died of liver failure.  Lame, I've seen Slayer live a number of times.   =(

Man...  I'm going to miss seeing Slayer live.  I knew that the end was coming, with Tom Araya having increasing back problems and Dave Lombardo splitting due to issues with Kerry King; but I didn't expect this.

I've been to a lot of metal shows.  A lot.  I always go front row center; that's my spot.  I'm a little guy, but I will take that spot from you.  I could hold that rail for any band from Pantera to Slipknot, but I could not hold the rail at a Slayer show.  I don't think I ever did.  Even at other shows, you watch out for the guys in the Slayer shirts, because those guys are freaking crazy!

That said, I think I"m going to just leave this video for the song "Bloodline" here.  One of my favorites. >:D

I read this morning that he died (post facto) as a result of a spider bite? They didn't say what kind.
