Kayak with Stowable Pontoons
« on: July 12, 2013, 11:12:40 AM »
This is kind of a cool concept. I have no idea if it works as advertised, but if it does, it would be a benefit to divers and fly fishermen for sure.

Training Wheels !!!!!
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Be better, both cosmetically and from a balance perspective, if the pontoons moved out in parallel.  Like the hangar bays on a Battlestar. ;)

Put a hand-crank on the boat that deploys and retracts them, using aluminum rods as struts.

Training wheels for a fishing kayak is cool but I had the misfortune to see a motorcycle with training wheels earlier in the week.  How f'ing embarrassing is that?

That's every trike and wheeled snowmobile can-am out there.   :P

How the heck do you steer and corner on a 2-wheeled motorcycle with training wheels?

No clue.  Speaking of Can Ams, I took a close look at one this week.  They had what looked like car tires on the front with a nice square profile.  Bleecch!

I'll stick with my Harley.

So the torpedos are in the pontoons?

Cheap(ER) trike. I took one for a ride once, done right at speed the outrigger wheels are off the ground but cornering and maneuvering in traffic sucks out loud.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.
