Politicians and bureaucrats are considered productive if they swarm the populace like a plague of locust, devouring all substance in their path and leaving a swath of destruction like a firestorm. The technical term is "bipartisanship".

Interesting.

Conservatives/Constitutionalists/whatever doing the same thing the NBP's did during the 2008 election.

From the comments, a first person perspective:

Quote
First of all, you misinformed, overreacting imbecile, this story has very little, if any, truth to it. This is the reason that “no one is touching this.” I know because I was there. I was the one and only woman who was there with my “assault rifle” blocking the “doors of the public building” even though I was about 40 feet away standing in the grass. Media was all around asking questions and doing their standard reporting. The reason why they couldn’t make it bigger than it was is because Kessler did nothing wrong. He made a few videos. He spoke his mind. I do believe that we, as Americans, have the freedom of speech (1st Amendment, if you didn’t know). I also believe that we have the right to keep and bear arms (2nd Amendment). So without any physical “threats” (as you claim) to anyone, there is nothing anyone can do, not even the Pennsylvania State Police who were stationed about 2 blocks down the road on their horses. You even have the audacity to say that we were there to “intimidate public officials.” Well, as far as I’m concerned, when the mayor of Gilberton walks right by you and smiles in your face with the words “have a nice night,” you, sir, are completely out of your jurisdiction with this article. Get your facts straight before writing nonsensical garbage like this. There’s your reason no one is avidly dispersing your pathetic excuse for a story. If you weren’t there firsthand to see the “terror” we allegedly were instilling in the borough, then please keep your daft comments to yourself.

More than likely nothing illegal about standing outside a city council meeting with an AR slung.  I doubt they actually stopped anyone from going in.  More than likely, the mere presence of armed lay people with guns scared off opposition.

Similar to those NBP guys.  Chances are, they had someone do some measurements and determined they were outside the 250' (or whatever the distance is) perimeter of a polling place where no campaigning and no weapons are allowed.  And they probably didn't directly intimidate anyone, and let people's own imaginations do the work for them.

I draw a very clear distinction between people scaring themselves with their own imaginations, and actual assault or political intimidation/terrorism.  I have nothing but loathing for cops that use "public disturbance" as a prosecutable/citeable offense when someone is minding their own business and happen to have a gun on themselves, and another person has an overactive imagination.

They mentioned the one guy had signatures of 20,000 "Americans" that wanted the guy fired.  How big is this town?  Why did it not say voters or residents?  Seems to be a very unspecific way of saying it.

Easy answer - they were not the town residents, but rather the "signatures" from an online petition circulated online - and the fact that it only garnered 20,000 signatures nationally is kinda pathetic.  Chicago alone ought to do better with their dead voters......

And this is what America will look like if there was a revolution and today's militias or right-wing extremists were to take over.
