Tapatalk worthwhile??
« on: September 13, 2013, 12:42:29 AM »
For those of you that use Tapatalk, what are the real advantages?  Some aspects of the fora are a bit frustrating on my phone, but I'm so cheap that I have yet to spring for a $2.99 app (oh yeah, and is that a 1-time charge, or recurring?).  Do you folks find it worth paying for?

It's a one time charge.

I consider it worthwhile when it's working. For me Tapatalk crashed a lot and was rather balky.

I use it when I'm in my treestand while out hunting so I can keep an eye on all you yahoos, malcontents and slackers.   It's okay.  I don't think I've ever managed to post anything from it yet.

I use it a lot. It's pretty reliable on my android. This is really the only forum I use it for, ADVrider on occasion.

They just changed the levels of Tapatalk.  There use to be Tapatalk and Tapatalk 2.  IIRC there is Tapatalk Pro (Tapatalk 2) which is a paid version and Tapatalk which should be free.

ETA: I am using an iPhone, I don't know what they are doing for Android.

I'm using the paid version, and have posted 2 or 3 times (I think) with it.  It's one of the apps that my Motorola has not yet been able to make misbehave.

The latest version is Tapatalk 4, but it's $4.99 I think. I managed to get it when they were running a $0.99 special for Tapatalk 2 users. Personally, I like it it a lot. I hated having to pinch 'n zoom 'n scroll using a browser on a smartphone. Tapatalk formats everything so that it fits conveniently within the width of your phone screen

I use it and like it. Make navigating on a smaller screen with touch easier than using the browser. I have the move basic version on my phone and the next level up on my ipad mini. Like it on both and it is stable on both.

My only experience is on the receiving end.  Please, please, please!  Immediately defeat the  "Sent using" sig line (unless you are paid well for advertising the product. ;))

this is what I'm mainly considering.

I use a Firefox beta, and the formatting is nuts. I might just spring for it
