Deck sealing
« on: October 08, 2013, 05:31:27 PM »
I want to clean and seal the wood deck in my yard.

It is pressure treated wood and a few years old. I read a million conflicting reports about what sealers are best.

Anyone have opinions about which products are good?

Should I do a really good scrub or use the pressure washer to prep?

There are a lot of sealing products available; I don't want to color the wood, just seal it.

power washing is by far the easiest way to clean a deck.  the two big problems with it are: 1) it removes the softer part of the grain, causing the deck to be rougher. and 2) it needs to dry at least a week or the moisture will keep the sealant from penetrating.

speaking of decks, who won the pot for the "neighbors" deck falling down?

Equal parts linseed oil and turpentine. Brush it on until it doesn't soak in anymore.
A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.
Is defenestration possible through the overton window?
