Which movie to see this weekend?
« on: October 18, 2013, 09:17:13 PM »
"Gravity" or "Captain Phillips"?  If we goto Gravity, it'll probably be the 2D version, not 3D.

(fwiw, I don't like Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, or Tom Hanks)

I'd go with the pirates.

It's really a crap shoot either way. =|

Haven't seen Gravity but I've heard it is really good. Saw Captain Phillips and it was really good. I really like Tom Hanks movies.

FWIW, I have read that Gravity is the better movie (even liked by people who don't like Sandra Bullock) and is a one which is actually better in 3D.

How about All Is Lost?

For me, its that or Carrie.

Gravity was phenomenally beautiful. Have not yet seen Captain Phillips.

We just got back from Cap'n Phillips.  Good movie, but it got me all pissed off again about cargo ships going unarmed in dangerous international waters, and no camouflaged (as merchant ships) "man-o-war" ships in the area baiting and killing pirates.

Hanks deserves an award for his performance right at the end of the movie when he was in post-traumatic shock.  (I don't *think* that's a spoiler)

Just got back from Escape Plan. It was pretty good. Didn't know that Sam Neill was in it.
