Some Interesting Ocean Landscapes
« on: October 15, 2013, 09:44:49 AM »
Some cool ocean geography images. Holy crap I would not want to live on the island of Male. It would feel like a Dystopian sci-fi movie. Or maybe the (I think Twilight Zone or Outer Limits) segment where somebody was living in an overcrowded future where all they wanted was some time alone.

Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway looks like a fun drive...

Re: #3

The ship channel at Corpus Christi (between Mustang Island and Port Aransas) has a pretty amazing tidal flow, also.  It is like a fast flowing river at certain times of the day.  The ferry has to run at a 45 degree angle to fight the current.

I don't have a clue where "Palau" is  ???  Probably had another name when I went to school  ;/
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin

Eleuthera is one of several islands that lies within the archipelago in The Bahamas, about 80km (50mi) east of the capital city Nassau. It is long – about 180km (112mi) – and thin - only about 1.6 km (1mi) wide in places.

You want thin?  I got your thin right here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_Island

At low tide the highest point is 20 feet above sea level - at high tide it can be as much as 2 feet lower.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!
