Mika pocket holsters: customer service experience
« on: November 10, 2013, 03:15:10 AM »
I used to have a S&W M&P340, and a Mika pocket holster to carry it in. Best pocket holster I've ever used by a long shot, but after months of wear I noticed that in certain pants it wasn't retaining as well on the drawstroke. I swapped that gun and went to a Ruger LCR that came with a Desantis Nemesis. And it's just been a disappointment the whole time I've used it, nowhere near as nice as the Mika. So I finally broke down and snagged another Mika, and in the notes on the order form I mentioned how happy I was with the one I had previously, but would it be possible to get extra grippy material on this one as I had had problems with my last one?

Robert Mika responded in minutes, agreeing to make the change I had requested for free as well as sending me a replacement for the one I already had with extra material on it as well. I'm very impressed. They're amazing holsters, and this is absolutely top notch customer service. I really respect anyone who stands by their work and will do what it takes to make things right for their customer. If you ever pocket carry, spend the $32 (shipped) and try a Mika.  http://www.frontiernet.net/~akim/

The world would be a better place if everyone was like him.
He shipped my holster and told me to send him a check if I liked it.
Needless to say, I mailed the check that day anyway. The holster was perfect. I no longer own the gun, but I won't part with that holster...ever. It's a reminder of what's good in the world.

He called me as soon as it was a respectable hour this morning to ask how much extra material I wanted on my LCR holster. I couldn't answer but emailed a reply when I could. He responded to that again within minutes. Very impressed.

I've carried my Kahr PM9 in a Mika pocket holster for years.

He makes an excellent holster, and gives outstanding customer service.

I saw the Mika pocket holsters while searching for Taurus TCP carry options. I decided to go with a Guru wallet holster first since it will be warm again when/if I get my ccw permit. Mika didn't appear to have any wallet holsters and I hate filling up my thigh pockets with more junk. The Taurus .380 was a compromise but I gotta admit that my first choice of using a Ruger LCR in a pocket holster still seems like a great carry option. The options for ccw are endless and I'm already tired of trying to find the perfect compact 9mm for IWB. The search could end where it began. I'll be sure to get a Mika holster somewhere down the line.

He'll make one in any shape you want for an additional $10.
