It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

I haven't been stopped since 1981 or 1982.  We were looking for a street in a strange town and cop thought I might be drunk.  Was not.

Got a few warnings before that but never a ticket though I deserved it a couple times.

I thought I was going to get stopped a few weeks ago coming out of town after a gas/grocery run in the pickup.  Speed limit is 25 which is right at the 3rd-4th gear shift point so I just use 3rd in town.  There is another gas station at the west edge of town and the limit goes up to 35 a couple hundred yards beyond.  Just after passing the ins and outs of the station, I touched the gas and shifted into 4th - when I notice a deputy coming into town
Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin
