new spin on the old pepperbox
« on: February 01, 2014, 12:52:02 PM »
a "new" design by leinad that is a top break .22lr with a removable, manually rotated cylinder.  rather bizarre, but could be useful.  i'm wondering how the cylinder finds alignment with the hammer?

Hmmmm, I would hazard to guess "With your off-hand"?
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Leinad makes, or made, a 5 shot .45Colt/.410 model.  Given one, I can imagine a few fun plinking sessions followed by a sale.

I guess so, but what locks it in position?

Reminds me of their earlier Cobray Pocket Pal. Although that was a really odd duck with a switchable three shot .380 revolving cylinder that fired out the top fixed barrel, or a five shot .22LR one that fired out the bottom.
I promise not to duck.

My guess is that the knurling on the aft section of the cylinder/barrel engages the inner corners of the two frame rails. Leinad's don't have solid frames -- they're two pieces of flat steel with a spacer between them.
