how to buy ammo
« on: February 02, 2014, 06:52:28 PM »
I have given up trying to find .22 on the shelf. All the stores tell me I can show up at 8am on thursday or whatever but I refuse to do that. Online stores offer to notify me when something gets in stock. Is there anywhere I can just backorder some and get it in a few weeks/months?
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

gunbot.net

Sign up and set some alerts, I'm seeing .22 ammo now for around $.04 if you watch for it

Are no stores offering to do backorders at all?

Brownell's and Midway USA did; I don't know if they still do.
Islamic sex dolls.  Do they blow themselves up?

Both Midway and Brownells say "no backorders".

Fleet Farm is doing the very decent thing, and taking names and calling people on the 500 round bricks of popular .22LR ammo as it comes in, but you have to be in their area for that to work.  Might have something to do with Stuart Mills III being an avid three-gunner, and behind the Fleet Farm/Huldra/Adams arms line of AR rifles etc.

Can't remember what part of the country Zach's in though.

I promise not to duck.

Nope, and those guys bothered me with the shipping costs.  $15 brick of 22 (limit of 1) and the shipping was another $17.  No thanks.

Seriously, I had alerts set on gunbot and Internet neck bearded my way into a small rimfire ammo fort at reasonable prices.
