The Chinese "Smog Shield"

A Chinese General states that smog over major Chinese cities will protect them from U.S. laser weapons. That's nice. How's it work on nuclear fission?  >:D

Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.

If we had any sense of humor as a nation we'd leak a report that said we had fielded a new laser system that had some novel way of penetrating dense clouds and smoke. See how much more coal they toss on the fire.

Shhh!  We already have that.  It's a pulsed tri-laser.  First pulse is one of those purple ones that can pop a ballon to carve a hole in the smog.  Then a green one for aiming.  And lastly the deadly red one that can carve through steel like in the 007 movies.

I've seen it - it's AWESOME!

Now do that with both vessles moving at full throttle and the target trying to evade.  In choppy seas.

As long as the swells aren't so high they actually break LOS between the ships/boats, that's a pretty trivial problem.

The target vessel can keep turning so much the laser can't physically dwell on one spot long enough to burn through, but then it'll also be turning so much it's negating it's escape too.
