To say what Ted Nugent said today, in public?

Apr 17, 8:46 PM (ET)

HOUSTON (AP) - With an assault weapon in each hand, rocker and gun rights advocate Ted Nugent urged National Rifle Association members to be "hardcore, radical extremists demanding the right to self defense."

Speaking at the NRA's annual convention Saturday, Nugent said each NRA member should try to enroll 10 new members over the next year and associate only with other members.

"Let's next year sit here and say, 'Holy smokes, the NRA has 40 million members now,'" he said. "No one is allowed at our barbecues unless they are an NRA member. Do that in your life."

Nugent sang and played a guitar painted with red and white stripes for the crowd at Houston's downtown convention center.

He drew the most cheers when he told gun owners they should never give up their right to bear arms and should use their guns to protect themselves if needed.

"Remember the Alamo! Shoot 'em!" he screamed to applause. "To show you how radical I am, I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. I want the bad guys dead. No court case. No parole. No early release. I want 'em dead. Get a gun and when they attack you, shoot 'em."

I really like Ted, but sometimes I think he goes a little over the top. That's mostly with the hunting though. This time he said mostly what I have been saying for a long time.

OK, Barbara, you're forgiven...but just this once!

I wonder if Ted is doing us any favor by being so vocally extreme. The other side certainly can't be getting a good feeling about us gun owners with Ted as an example.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with 99% of what he has to say, but, you know, preaching to the choir and all that...

Oh, I dunno. Seriously maimed is probably good enough in some cases. You know: blind, crippled for life from the neck down, facially disfigured, and so forth. Maybe a few missing fingers and toes. Half an ear left on one side.

In all seriousness: in the unlikely event I ever need to defend my life, I'll shoot to stop, not kill; conversely, given that it costs more to keep someone in prison for a year than it would to send a deserving young person to virtually any college in the nation, I think we need to invest in some lumber and rope, and lighten the load on the tax payers.
No tyrant should ever be allowed to die of natural causes.

I haven't been feeling very diplomatic lately.

Lets say what we believe.

If somebody threatens violence against me or my own I will use whatever force is necessary to protect us.

No mealy mouthed PC crap.  You use or threaten violence against me or my own and you will be stopped by the appropriate amount of violence necessary.

The only thing that makes me sicker than the current media obssession with these child rapist/murders is the fact that they have all been repeat offenders.

If the government fails in its primary duty of protecting us from the evil among us we shouldn't shrink away from the responsibility of protecting ourselves.

I'm a gun owner and PROUD of it. And yes I tell it from the mountain tops, such as they are in FLA.

Exactly how I feel!  I'm mad as h@ll about this.

Why do we release them if by doing so we're probably condemning another innocent child to such a horrible death and their family to such anguish?

Why not change the law to punish child-molesting with capital punishment?  Am I missing something here?

Yes I know that the trend is away from capital punishment, at least by the judiciary, the media and academia.

Neverthless, if justice is to prevail, rapists, whether of adults or children, should be put to death.

I'm with Ted Nugent all the way.

How radical are the gun grabbers?  What is it about those critters that make us work all the harder to see that they labor in vain?
Well brother Ted is our anti gun grabber, our anti VPC, he is our anti Brady, he is our anti Schumer,Boxer,Kennedy et al.
In other words, as radical as the left is in trying to disarm us, we need guys like Ted as far out on the right so as to motivate people to become concerned and or think about the alternatives to being a victim.
Disarming America will only bring us Bad Things, as we all know.  Armed law abiding citizens will stop that from happening.   I read in someone's sig line that "...in 25 states people can strap on a firearm with no permit and move around freely and some call that crazy.  4 our of 5 violent crimes happen in the other 25 states, so who is really crazy..." (or words to that effect)
How many more Americans today are learning the lessons that they need to know about who it is that really protects them if not for the counter measure that Ted brings to the table.  The louder the better imho.
Never disparage Ted Nugent's courage.  He has the stones to risk his fame and fortune for the freedom that we enjoy that the keeping and bearing of arms guarantees for us.  Can you say the same thing?  When someone is trying to take away your freedom, the time for being warm and fuzzy is over.
I am thankful for Ted Nugent and his courage and I hope he even gets louder.  He does nothing to hurt our cause among thinking men and women.  Who cares about the blissninnies.  He'll make them do even more stupid things and they'll expose themselves even more because of it.
You go Ted!
I hope you run for Governor of Michigan.

He would be a Governor we could be proud of, unlike Grandstand.

Yeah but he moved from Michigan for Crawford, Texas.  Lives just down the road from the President's ranch.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
