Hypocrisy, they name is ... Greenpeace
« on: June 23, 2014, 04:22:27 PM »
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/10920198/Greenpeace-executive-flies-250-miles-to-work.html

So a senior executive of Greenpeace, which wants to curb air travel, commutes from his home to his office twice a month by air because he doesn't want to take the train. He must have graduated from the Al Gore School of Environmental Stewardship.

What is it that Glenn Reynolds says all the time? "I'll believe it's a crisis when the people who tell me it's a crisis start acting like it's a crisis."

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves. - William Pitt the Younger

I remember a news interview with some political environmentalist, don't remember who it was, where the reporter called him out on something like this.
"so I ended up getting the above because I didn't want to make a whole production of sticking something between my knees and cranking. To me, the cranking on mine is pretty effortless, at least on the coarse setting. Maybe if someone has arthritis or something, it would be more difficult for them." - Ben

How many evil cars worth of fuel did their boats burn up?

Drift? After seeing their anti-whaling efforts on the tube I realized just how much a group of pussies they are.
If they truly wanted to stop the whaling(& I support THAT wholeheartedly) they'd have destroyed any whaler they could've caught.
Pussies.

One of my fondest memories involves Greenpeace.

July 4th 1983, Vallejo, CA. Greenpeace brought the Rainbow Warrior up the Napa River with the stated objective to take over a nuke Submarine.

We were fresh out of drydock and the boat was covered in scaffolding. We were armed with fire hoses and staged in the scaffolding.
Rainbow Warrior came up the river and had handful of Zodiac boats buzzing around. One of them came too close to our boat and I had the absolute pleasure of knocking two of the dirty hippies out of their boat and into the Napa River with a fire hose.

They did manage to get 2 people on the deck of the USS Nautilus (decommissioned). They were nabbed and escorted off the base and released.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Man that must of been fun!
I've seen the Rainbow Warrior come up in the San Diego Bay once. Only floated by though. :(

I'm surprised they didn't protest at your polluting the river at that point.  "Patchouli slick on Napa River.  Details at 6."

I hate those 'catch and release' regulations.  They eliminate any possibility of doing something useful with them once they're caught.  Seems like a waste to me.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

I hope you're going to donate the meat to those truly deserving. Gitmo prisoners? Denizens of the Special Hell?
