Guardians of the Galaxy. no spoilers.
« on: August 14, 2014, 10:35:49 PM »
The wife and I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy this afternoon.
Fun movie.
Some interesting tie ins to the Marvel universe, some decent characters, overall just a fun diversion.
If you see it inthe theater there is a small bit after the credits.

I saw it today and found it boring.

Saw it and thought it was super awesome. Not really familiar with the comics so my brother filled me in on a few little interesting details.

I'm interested in seeing how far the expand the Marvel franchise. I didn't realize Howard was a Marvel character till I looked it up.

Looking forward to the next installment.

^^^^^ makes me glad I outgrew comic books a long time ago

I'm looking forward to the batman v superman movie. Don't have high hopes, but will pay the fee to see it. Wish they would just title it "dawn of justice". And yes, get rid of Affleck.

I think Affleck is going to be a great Batman.

I think Affleck is going to be a great Batman.
Hopefully he brings all the skillful acting and depth of character he brought to Daredevil.

Can't lose!

Disclaimer:  I'm about to sperg out here.  I used to read a lot of cosmic marvel

I was a little bit upset at the casting for Ronan,  and also how they suddenly made him a straight up evil *expletive deleted*che bag. In the comics  he is a BIG dude. I got over it in about 5 minutes.
I was also upset at how they portrayed Nova Corps.    And  since when  is Nova Prime just space M  from space James Bond?  Where's the guy that ripped Annhilus'  guts out of his mouth?

Drax's background change/casting were ok, I guess.  I  REALLY  liked the way they did his red tattoo stuff.

I enjoyed it a lot, as a whole.
I'd watch it again.

That movie wasn't his fault.

I just got back from seeing it in IMAX 3D.  What a gorgeous movie for that format.  I also thought that Rocket was the first true CGI character to transcend the uncanny valley effect.  That critter looked 100% real to me.

The plot was pretty boring, and a less pretty movie would have made it more of a problem.  I also thought the dialog made up for the weakness of the plot.

Regarding the joke after the credits, nobody under the age of 35 is going to get it.
