Percentage of people with tattoos
« on: November 11, 2014, 08:16:42 PM »
I got curious as to the percentage of young people with tattoos, and so did some looking. One source puts the numbers at 32% of people 18 to 24, and 40% of those 25 to 40. I really thought the numbers would be over 50%.

Nevertheless, those are remarkable numbers.

The thing is it counts whether you got a cute process ankle thingy on spring break, or head to toe prison tats in sing sing.  Yeah I thought it would be higher, too.

Huh. I thought it would be lower. I wonder what it looks like geographically?

Age 75+.

None.

I decided a long time ago not to do anything irrevocable without a lot of thought.*

As a matter of esthetics, I don't like tattoos on women at all.

One or two tattoos on men are OK (my Pop had a decorative anchor on his arm and something else on the other arm) but to have extensive tattoos all over seems a little overboard.  What's amusing to me is the folks who get everything but the uncovered areas tattooed (neck, hands, face), as if they didn't want to show them off after all.

However, I understand other folks' liking for extensive ink, and if that's "your thing," it's OK with me anyhow.  Just don't want any for myself.

Besides, my varicose veins are enough "decoration." :)

WHATEVER YOUR DEFINITION OF "INFRINGE " IS, YOU SHOULDN'T BE DOING IT.
