9mm AR

..Pistol.

 =D =D =D =D =D

Holy crap! You guys HAVE to get one of these.  SOOOOO much fun.  I just finished putting a tic over 1000rds through mine.  I was having such fun I actually bought more ammo at the range.  It's like the 9mm pistol on my bedside but better in every measurable way.  Easier to shoot, blazing fast, no real recoil, larger mag, better for weapons retention.  My controled pair splits sped up, the group was smaller, and the target was farther away.

This thing is so cool.  I can see why MP-5's are so popular inside buildings.

At this point, with the AR brace being allowed on pistol ARs, is there any benefit to building up an SBR AR-15 vs a pistol AR with the Sig brace (especially with the $200 tax stamp cost on top)?

You can adjust LOP on an SBR without tools.

There are three pistol "stock" options and a million rifle stock options.

That's about it.

The cost of the sig brace plus a pistol reciever extension is not far from the cost of a tax stamp.

While I prefer a real stock, the legal options opened up by a "pistol" vs. a rifle in many jursidictions are probably the biggest point in favor of the brace, otherwise I would have gone with an SBR.

I'm building a 9mm "pistol" AR on a dedicated CMMG lower (the CMMG lower was less than the cost of a mag block alone)

Also aren't SBRs a bitch to travel with due to nfa?  Or is that just MGs?
That is all. *expletive deleted*ck you all, eat *expletive deleted*it, and die in a fire. I have considered writing here a long parting section dedicated to each poster, but I have decided, at length, against it. *expletive deleted*ck you all and Hail Satan.

Just have to notify the ATF if you plan to cross state lines.

I don't run straight M4 stocks, so depending  on my mood of stock, Stock+carbine extension+tax stamp is still $150 more then Sig brace+pistol tube.

If you like a UBRs or Vltor A5's then it'll be even more money.

That said Sig Braces  are not a panacea. One must weigh one's options.

Just have to notify the ATF if you plan to cross state lines.

By "notify", you submit form like a F1 or F4, (The 5320.20 to be precise) but unlike the application to transfer or make a NFA firearm, you don't pay anything, other than the USPS stamp on the envelope.

The wait is only supposed to be a few business days, but it was several weeks maybe a few months during the worst of the backlog during 2012.

https://www.atf.gov/sites/default/files/assets/pdf-files/atf-f-5320-20.pdf

IIRC, you have to fill out the 5320.20 for Suppressors/Silencers, SBS, SBR's, MG's, and DD's, but NOT AOW's.
I promise not to duck.
