It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Eh.  It's missleading. Where is that money spent? Is it road money? Welfare? Are they accounting for military bases as part of it?

Yep.

Also, how much goes to illegals and their anchor progeny?  Fed.gov mandates the states take care of them.

It's a surprising percentage of state budgets. I would love to know what percentage of the amount we spend in fed taxes come back

It's probably not counting military bases.  I can tell that simply because AK is listed as #50.  I've seen maps that look at 'all federal spending' and they generally place AK in the top 5.  North Dakota as well.

Also, how much goes to illegals and their anchor progeny?  Fed.gov mandates the states take care of them.

Look up 'unfunded mandates', there's a lot of them.

Feds tax the people and businesses in the 50 states.

Some of the money comes BACK to the 50 states - usually with strings attached.

Feds use some of it up to support the Federal bureaucracy.

Yep - makes perfect economic sense.

That was my question:  how does this compare to the federal tax revenue pulled out of each of those states in the first place?

We've discussed this here before. Much of the federal spending is in weird, below the radar projects.

illinois 25.7% of it's $822 bilion dollar (spending) budget is a much larger number then South Carolina's 32.4% of a $23 billion dollar (spending) budget.  (2013 numbers for both states, most current available.)

I couldn't find the federal $ amount in SC's budget.  But Illinois lists $84Billion as Federal money on the revenue in it's budget. (Which it list's as part of agency appropriations.)  Which would be far less the 25.7% in the article.

Now this one is counting military bases.  Puts Alaska in at #48 for fewest federal employees per capita.  Low population and a LOT of military personnel on bases here drives that.

Maryland is the one that surprises me.  DC and Hawaii don't.
