There was a toy or something I remember from years back that was made from a plastic or other synthetic, and had a very slippery surface. Almost like it was oiled, but there was no liquid on it.

For the life of me I can't remember what it was, or what the material was. Does anyone here remember?

It may have been one of those spiders that you threw at a wall and it "crawled" down the wall.

Was it the 'Wacky Wally"? If so, you're in luck as their still being made.

Delrin?   (although I doubt that Wacky Wallys were made of the stuff).

Delrin  was gonna be my guess as well. Gets used for any number of bushings and bearing surfaces.

Did they make glides for boat bunks? I had a boat slide off on ramp after I put some super slick plastic on bunks a long time ago

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Well delrin sounds nothing like a wall sticking spider. Sounds like magic slime or one of those kind of toys. Delrin is excitingly slick under load though. It does make good slides for moving heavy things. I have some huge chunks of it, enough to safely rest my car on in fact.

???

http://www.dotmar.com.au/co-efficient-of-friction.html

^Delrin doesn't show up as Delrin in that list, but Teflon shows a coefficient of friction (COF) of 0.06

???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polytetrafluoroethylene#Applications_and_uses

^ Teflon:

Quote
Although UHMWPE is more resistant to wear than PTFE, for these applications, versions of PTFE with mineral oil or molybdenum disulfide embedded as additional lubricants in its matrix are being manufactured. Its extremely high bulk resistivity makes it an ideal material for fabricating long-life electrets, useful devices that are the electrostatic analogues of magnets.

"Moly Di" is dry, but it still doesn't sound quite like your description.

???

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyoxymethylene#Properties

^Delrin:

Quote
POM is a tough material with a very low coefficient of friction. However, it is susceptible to polymer degradation catalyzed by acids....

I didn't see a number for that "very low coefficient of friction" in that blurb.

This one gives an "0.2" for Delrin's coefficient of friction:

http://www.sdplastics.com/delrin/delrin[1].pdf

Compare that to Teflon's 0.06 stated above.

It wasn't a hard material. It was soft, like the Wacky Wally would be (never seen one). Is the Wacky Wally material slippery or sticky? I remember the spiders being slippery, but don't know how they'd stick to a wall like that, unless it was hydraulic pressure or something scientific that I no longer understand. ;)

Dry, they feel tacky/sticky. Wet, they feel slick/oily.

UHMWPE is very tough and slippery against abrasive surfaces, unlike PTFE.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

Nope, but the moly GunKote has the rather disconcerting property of providing a matte, rather rough looking finish that is still impressively slick.  As in, coat your action and you won't notice that you forgot to lube anything because the bolt slides as smooth and easy as with Teflon grease.
