Incoming Boston U Professor and Her Hate Tweets

Nothing surprising, I guess. What stood out in the story to me was this statement by the university spokesman:

Although Riley's condemnation of the racist tweets was new, he reiterated that Grundy had a right to sound off against white males.

I'm just thinking that replacing "white males" with a descriptor for most any other human on the planet would have gotten the spokesman disciplined, if not fired, and would have resulted in the professor's (and I use the term loosely given her lack of history knowledge) job offer revoked.

While not an official orgam/agency of the United Methodist Church I wonder how they see this person fitting in with their beliefs and official creed.  http://www.umc.org/what-we-believe/social-principles-social-creed  I want to read about the sermons this Sunday that focus on her expressed views and the fit with the church.

I learned that the hard way with my college history class. I took a test and stuck to the facts. I got a "D". Retook the test like a radical '60's Black Panther, ranted and blamed the White Man for everything. Got an "A+". I went to the administration office and got my money back. I told them I wanted an education, not indoctrination.

Well, she gave one of the typical "kinda sorta" progressive apologies. She's sorry she didn't say what she meant in a more delicate fashion. I guess it gets her off the hook with Boston U after all those alumni threatened to stop donating. Still, her prejudice is there. I would no sooner take a class from her as a white male student than I would take a class from a known KKK member if I were a black student.
