Interesting times to come. Feds wailing about encryption
« on: July 08, 2015, 03:30:47 PM »
Interesting times. Waiting for any articles on the subject, for now the congress critters are wailing on the Hill that encrypted communications are warrant proof, they need to be able to see everything and because they can't their puddys hurt. The mantra should be "we can't catch terrorists because of your privacy". Get ready for interesting times to come.

And yet they don't seem to concerned about the lost emails of the former Sec. of State....

Which were supposedly classified, yet unencrypted.

Of course they are readable. If you ask nicely enough for the key or figure it out your own self. Just like the contents of my safe are viewable under a warrant.
That is all. *expletive deleted*ck you all, eat *expletive deleted*it, and die in a fire. I have considered writing here a long parting section dedicated to each poster, but I have decided, at length, against it. *expletive deleted*ck you all and Hail Satan.

They've been complaining about encryption for decades.  Nothing ever seems to come of it.

Wish I had the video. Asst AG testifying that encrypted data is in essence "warrant proof". As is Fox News talking head Gen Keane right now. They are setting the stage for either trying to make any encryption illegal or setting a face saving law that mandates companies provide a "backdoor" to the Feds while they can scream "we are following the law.

I am not an expert in encryption. The topics I saw that frustrated them the most was products that encrypt from point to point; email, text etc.  I'm sure there will be more, but it's the Feds dancing and screaming we can't fight terrorism (and allow mission creep into other areas) and let you subjects have privacy.

Had CNN on and they were talking about the NYSE glitch and the aiport glitch and for some reason they segwayed into the FBI complaining about companies having encryption.
