Beer Brewers - Labels?
« on: July 10, 2015, 11:02:27 PM »
What do the beer brewers on the forum use for labeling your bottles? I haven't really labeled as yet because by the time a batch is ready for the fridge, I've just about finished the last batch. Now though, I find myself with three batches going and I'm trying not to mix myself up.

I guess ideally I'm looking for something waterproof with an erasable surface? Or are there labels that are easily removed and discarded each time? So far I've just been using the Mr Beer PET bottles, so something for plastic.

Sharpie on the cap
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

Sharpie on the bottle cap.  Just a letter or number or something so you can identify which batch.

Or you can print labels and glue them on with milk.  (I've never done that, mainly because I'm not creative enuf to design a label)

Zahc and I were typing at the same time.

Ah, the cap. These PET caps are black plastic, but I should be able to find some kind and/or color of ink that will show up on them.

For grolsch-type flippy bottles I use hanging tags. Also for my kegs. You can buy a whole mess of little tags with string on them for a couple bucks. I don't remember where...maybe office supply store.

Tags are another good option, thanks. I don't know why I had brain freeze on these simple and easy solutions. I must have had it in the back of my mind that the BEER MUST HAVE A LABEL!!!

If you want to gift it and get fancy, you can buy printer label paper with adhesive.
