Indy Colts undefeated
« on: November 06, 2006, 12:33:28 PM »
Well, half of the season is on the books, and the Colts haven't lost a game yet.  Obviously this can only mean that they're doomed to lose their remaining games.  Just ask the sports commentators, who will surely begin telling us how their past successes can't possibly be taken as an indication of future performance.

This happened last year, too.  I don't get it.  As soon as it became self-evident that they have a really good team, all the sports media folks began bleating that they don't actually have a good team.

I don't get it.  To paraphrase from another thread, "Why it gots to be an blue thing, yo?"

Wait, you forgot something . . . THE BEARS, the greatest team in the NFL, LOST!!!  And not a word about that on Chicago radio, man, you would think the Bears play in some other city! grin

East Coast Eloi media hatred for Indianapolis goes waaaay back.  They were spittin on the Pacers in the ABA daze.

Someone has to play the goat and it has always been Indy.  We take it, smile politely and make no response.  Once you get pushed around you always get pushed around.  Have there ever been stories of Colts fans throwing batteries or even beers on the visiting team?  Indy fans are the Mild Bunch.

Couple the Eloi rat cage hatred with the human reaction to hate and envy success (the tall poppies get cut down) and you will find the motivation for the ECM's bleating.

Hey El T, look at the bright side. At least they didn't give us a heart attack getting it done for a change. They had the Pats number from the opening whistle.

Very true.  Peyton was in the zone and on fire Sunday.  What was horrible is that I had to listen to the game on the radio driving back from Chicago.  The good thing that I was around a lot of Bears fans when Da Bears lost Sunday; the very same people that were telling me how Da Bears were the greatest team in the NFL at dinner Saturday.
