Front and center in the Bergdahl rehabilitation movement is the just-started second season of Serial, a podcast by criminal groupies Sarah Koenig and Julie Snyder that selects one criminal per season with the objective of getting the criminal out. The series is an NPR spinoff and is at least partly taxpayer funded through NPR. The first season featured convicted murderer Adnan Masud Syed, who has been convicted of strangling his former girlfriend, student Hae Min Lee, in 1999. The current season explores Bergdahl’s betrayal from Bergdahl’s (and Koenig’s) point of view.
