"Dark Matter" on SyFy Network
« on: December 18, 2015, 06:21:21 PM »
Anyone watch it? Not top quality by any means, but pretty good for a SyFy Channel show. Just wrapped up all of season 1 via Netflix. Pretty sure they were going for Firefly-ish, and I couldn't help but try and match the crew of the Raza with the crew of Serenity.

Anyway, entertaining. I'll keep watching, especially now that the bastards at SyFy canceled "Defiance".

I watched it, and liked it.

That and Killjoys had a pretty decent first season.

I've got "Killjoys" in my queue, waiting for the DVD release.

About the only thing I didn't really like in "Dark Matter" was that annoying Will Wheaton's guest appearance.

I'm about 7 or 8 episodes in; season one is on Netflix.  I'm digging it so far.  There are many flaws but none so egregious that I gave up on it.  Normally I find amnesia as a plot vehicle to be hackneyed as hell* but here they make it work.

Yeah, I think they're doing a good job with the amnesia. Also, I thought 3 was going to be a typical third rate SyFy character and didn't like him in the first few episodes. By the end of season 1 though, I thought he was one of the best characters.

No firefly, but I liked it.

I enjoyed dark matter and killjoys.

There is a new syfy show called "the expanse" which seems pretty interesting in its first two episodes.
