I filled out every single entry form they sent me.

Here's hoping. wouldn't that be awesome to fly around?

Pretty cool.

There are several of those Piper L4s, Cubs, etc. that fly out of a little grass strip near me.  Hampton Airfield, IIRC.

I like watching the guys doing the extreme STOL stuff. Nothing quite like seeing a pimped out carbon cub landing almost like a helicopter!

Just got done putting in my 100 entries.  I figure for $100 bucks it's worth it.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

^ Did somebody goof on that?  I can't conceive of a "free" raffle ticket.

I can't find a pic of it right now, but wasn't that the model the Air Corps tricked out for silent running, with a high-pitch geared-down huge six-bladed prop, no lights, and they even shielded the exhaust mufflers so the red-hot glow couldn't be seen at night?

Someone help out here, please?

Terry

Those old L-birds are pretty cool.  The poor man's warbird.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

I suppose all my preprinted entry forms were as a result of my paid membership.... But yeah, don't have to donate to enter

I did.  Robert's done a few Young Eagles flights, and I figured a buck a throw for the raffle that goes to a good cause is worth it.

Entered.  Once online.

Will be in a quandry if I win.  Probably sell it to someone who can take care of it like it ought to be and maybe get a less historically significant Piper J-3.  And then learn to fly full scale.

I would insist on the classic canary-yellow paint job.  I think those planes are beautiful.

I'm thinking the same thing. i'd be afraid to fly such a great bird.

Maybe the local aviation museum would be interested. They routinely give rides in some of their warbirds and keep good care of them.

Ditto, except I'd probably get a Super Cub or a Cessna 172.
