More on Clinton's Security Lapses

If that "woman" does not end up in jail why the *expletive deleted*ing *expletive deleted*ck should anyone that accidently has a security lapse suffer any consequences?
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Holy hell.

I would "plus one," but I just don't think that expression captures the required amount of facepalm, horror, and righteous indignation. I remember back in 2009, people commented on the Obama team having no experience with govt/mil security concerns or procedures. They were apparently unwilling to learn.

The DoJ needs to turn the investigation over to Darryl Issa's team.  They would have had it swept under the rug and forgotten by now.

But Ms. Rodham Clinton spent eight years as wife of the president. Is this an indication that the William Jefferson Clinton administration also played fast and loose with national security matters? In other words, this really wasn't her first rodeo. She certainly wasn't in any position to have any need to know about any security issues as first lady, but she was in the Senate before being named Secretary of State. This "lapse" is not explained away as easily as "We had no prior experience, I didn't know any better." She very definitely knew better, and she went ahead and did it anyway because being able to operate outside of any supervision or exposure to FOI laws was more important to her that national security.

See Ben's post (above, March 16) linking to an article revealing that during her time as Secretary of State Hillary attempted to get authorization not only for herself but also for several of her key staff to use non-secure Blackberries within some extremely high-security area. The request was denied, as it should have been, but the fact she would even try is an indication of her real priorities -- to operate outside of all oversight.

See Ben's post (above, March 16)...

Well, yeah, that's what this whole thread is about - using a Blackberry anything in a SCIF.

Plus that it wasn't just Clinton, but here entire entourage that wanted an exemption. The freakin' directors of NSA, etc. would never ask for, nor get, such an exemption. Yet Clinton wanted it for a herd of aides that in most instances shouldn't even be in a SCIF.

Obama never gave up his blackberry, the Secret Service conceded to Obama's demand to keep it. ;/

I do not remember that part.  Did they give him a special sanitized one?

Don't quote me but I think they put a program in it that satisfied their security concerns to a degree.   It was a compromise solution and the SS only reluctantly agreed to it.
