Speaking of denial ...
« on: March 11, 2016, 09:38:31 PM »
The Donald canceled a rally in Chicago to avoid a major confrontation between his supporters and haters. I can't escape noting the irony of the statements of some of the anti-Trump demonstrators:

http://bigstory.ap.org/article/17787a327ac849c1b7d0f0cfc4463ca6/trump-faces-questions-about-rally-violence-gop-debate

Quote
"Trump represents everything America is not and everything Chicago is not," said Kamran Siddiqui, 20, a student at the school who was among those celebrating. "We came in here and we wanted to shut this down. Because this is a great city and we don't want to let that person in here."

How is it a bad thing to be representing everything Chicago is not? I don't understand. And I also wonder if Kamran Siddiqui is even a naturalized citizen or if he (she?) has been in the U.S. long enough to have any idea what "everything American" even means. I think there's a now-former media professor who wants to meet this student.

Quote
"Our country is not going to make it being divided by the views of Donald Trump," said Jermaine Hodge, a 37-year-old lifelong Chicago resident who owns a trucking company. "Our country is divided enough. Donald Trump, he's preaching hate. He's preaching division."

Donald Trump is preaching hate? Donald Trump is preaching division? What about the clown in the White House -- what does Mr. Hodge think Obama has been doing for seven years?

This is CHICAGO, home of Al Capone, Capital City of Organized Crime, and never forget that dead people vote here.  Don't worry about AMC's "The Walking Dead,"  they'll only eat you, here they will outvote you.
There were riots in 1968 in Chicago at the Democrat Convention as well.  They have a corner on the market here.
I saw the news on Fox.  They interviewed a number of nuts who were really proud of themselves for causing Trump to cancel.  Using their 1st amendment rights to TKO Trump's.  They are totally clueless as to what little jackboots they really are.  They  probably think it's a victory for democracy but it's really brownshirt Naziism in action.

I hate to admit it, but my respect for Trump shot up after hearing this news. There is nothing that trump (or any conservative) could gain in chicago anyway, its entirely a top to bottom corrupt public union hive lost cause.

This nation is in dire straits. Not just because of the FSA v Trump riot, of course. I worry that no leader is really up to the task, if he lets his events be cancelled due to temper tantrums.

On the other hand, I could be wrong. Maybe it's best to let the FSA look like a bunch of thugs that stand in the way of a peaceful political assembly.

I worry that this crap will be at the polls. The new black panthers interfered with white voters during the last presidential election.

But they were swiftly punished...

Given my neighborhood, I may consider taking a half-day off, just to escort my wife to the polling place. Then again, the way voter turn-out's been going, it may take half the day to vote, anyhow.

I would consider physical intimidation at a polling place moral justification for violence.

They are using the threat of violence to insure that they can continue to do as they wish, regardless of my input, enforced by threat of even more violence.

The police may or may not agree with me, but I think it'd be an appropriate reaction.

Agreed. And my state took polling places off the prohibitive list. Though I doubt the BLM, SJW or Black Panthers have the nuts to try it in south Arkansas
