The NPR article was just preaching to their choir.

The New Yorker piece was is an insidious piece of propaganda, written well.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Is this going to be another one of those threads where MillCreek links to NPR, and then somebody says NPR are commies, and then somebody else says NPR is fair and balanced?

I love how these guys always complain about the "gun lobby" spreading fear, when the whole point of their screeds is to spread fear. And again, in the NPR article, no mention of the drop in crime concurrent with the rise of "the concealed carry lifestyle."

Interestingly, the NPR piece didn't mention how unwashed civilians don't have the training to handle a gun. That would have interfered with their narrative that the concealed carry lifestyle business is making you paranoid by offering such training.

  • In short, most intelligence is false.
Impressed yet befogged, they grasped at his vivid leading phrases, seeing only their surface meaning, and missing the deeper current of his thought.
