So my wife and I are about a year behind in our plans on re-furnishing the new house, since the tree fall repairs took almost a year.  We were out today at furniture stores looking at leather power reclining sofas/couches/recliners/sectionals.  We now think we want to buy two sofas/couches with three seats each.  The local stores carry Ashley, Lazy Boy, Flexsteel and Southern Motion, primarily.  What we are looking for would probably cost around $ 4000 for two sofas/couches.

We came home and read reviews of all the brands and blanched at the horror stories for all of them.

So does the Collective have any words of wisdom for brands to look for or brands to avoid in leather power reclining sofas?

So . . . is it you or your wife that first got the idea to buy the other an electric chair?   :O

Ashley factory is literally right next door. Not saying their furniture is bad, but furniture making and electronics are two areas you want to keep apart. There's little cross domain skillsets that carry over. Unless you or your wife have physical disabilities that would substantially benefit from a lift chair, don't buy one.
