UN Resolutions
« on: May 01, 2005, 07:03:09 PM »
I want to know if a UN resoultion has ever been enforced.  Listening to the news tonite, I heard how some people are calling for the UN to pass resolutions against N. Korea's missle test.

Has the UN ever enforced its resolutions?  Is there any occurances where the UN said stop, or else; the offending party kept on going, and the UN came down with force?  I am curious if resolutions are simply the idle threats that everyone makes them out to be.
I still say 'Give Detroit to Canada'

The "Police Action" in Korea circa 1950 was a UN sanctioned operation.  It's still being enforced by US troops 55 yrs later....hmmmm.

That's the only one that comes to mind.
Known from coast to coast, almost!
