On a slightly serious note about the recent state of Army football, I've talked to friends who work at West Point. Since 9/11, Army football has had a hell of a time recruiting serious football players. The reason? Serious football players are hard to recruit when your country is at war, and there's a strong likelihood that a West Point grad will end up in a war zone after graduation. That's not as big an issue for young men/women who want to serve and choose an academy for that reason. It's a lot harder to do when the kid is a football stud who has a list of colleges recruiting him to come play ball. Navy and Air Force don't have as a hard a time, as the nature of the modern war(s) doesn't put Navy and Air Force boots on the ground as much...at least in the eyes of the average high school football player. Another thing with that is mothers influence. Mothers are less excited about their sons going to West Point when there's a ground war going on. Not as big an issue with Navy and Air Force.
