Episode C2: Failure!

I had twelve hours this semester: I withdrew from six and failed the other six.

Whee!
No point, just sort of throwing this out there.

I heart school, too. Very sorry for your rough semester!

Been there done that.

I've succeeded and excelled in many areas in my life, school wasn't one of them.

If it makes you feel better, one of my best friends and my college roommate for most of my four years at school went from a 0.0 his third semester to a 4.0 his fourth semester (two withdrawals, one pass/fail, two F's.)  Pretty much 90% of that change was due to him uninstalling CounterStrike.  (I guess it's WoW now, but I've seen others come close to failure over online poker.)

Another good friend of mine had severe medical issues (it's a lifelong illness, and his doctors were having an extrememly hard time managing his symptons that semester) and got zero of the 18 credits he was taking too.  The school was absolutely inflexible over things like giving him more time for tests (no matter how smart or prepared you are, it's hard to pass a test when you're spending 60 of the 90 minutes throwing up in the bathroom).  He ended up having to petition for a retroactive medical withdrawal from all classes that semester so it wouldn't affect his cumulative GPA (two of his scholarships depended on it.)  His only choices were to re-take even the classes he actually passed that semester, or two keep the terrible grades he got, lose half his scholarships, and be kicked out when he couldn't afford to pay for tuition.

Here's hoping what caused you to get the 0.0 is under your control--just about everything can be fixed eventually.

I failed a class this semester.  Hey, it happens sometimes.  I've been in college off and on for going on 7 years now.  Some day I'll finish my degree.  Right after I pass all of the necessary classes.

The real question isn't what grades you got this semester, but what grades are you gonna get next semester?

My kid did that, I might still be ticked off about it too. Cost me ~ $10,000 which I'm still paying off. Feel better now?  grin

If it makes you feel better, I was also gnashing my teeth up until the last hour before the last test to make sure I passed certain classes. I was almost having panic attacks at a few points worrying about what would become of me. Some things went better than expected, and others worse. I don't think I've played 'Eye of the Tiger' more times than in this semester.

I had to decide old limits weren't current limits, and then convince my body of the same.
