Clinton/Lynch Tarmac Meeting Redux
« on: August 03, 2017, 01:18:18 PM »
DOJ has just released the transcript regarding the Clinton and Lynch tarmac "meeting". The heavily redacted transcript. I didn't know discussing grandchildren fell under the national security umbrella.

I've seen a lot of angry tweets about this from people who don't seem to understand what was released/redacted.
There is no transcript there. It's internal DOJ communication about what talking points to use and how to spin the meeting. A lot of it is even labeled "draft" or "edit" so I'm not really surprised they claimed deliberative process exemption on that. You can certainly argue against that exemption (aka “withhold it because you want to”), but it doesn't seem likely the redacted sections would shed any more light on what was actually discussed on the Tarmac anyway. It's just the 1st draft of the spin that was eventually used publicly.
In the moral, catatonic stupor America finds itself in today it is only disagreement we seek, and the more virulent that disagreement, the better.

It has now been reported that the meeting was planned over some time period, and not "happenstance". There's a possibility DOJ repressed their knowledge of that, which may be part of the redacted material.

Got a link for that? All I can find now when I search is this latest document/redaction stuff or old stuff that says it was unplanned.

I'd say there's a very good chance of that, since Lynch's comment at the time was that Bill's plane "happened to be" on the tarmac near hers so she went aboard to say hello.

About the  only interesting thing to come from this FOIA disclosure is the knowledge that Lynch used an alias during her time as AG ... Elizabeth Carlisle .... borrowed from either her maternal grandmother or from a lady that drowned 2 rabbits and posted it on face book ... But why would an Attorney General use an alias for government business ?

Didn't it previously become known that some other highly-placed person in the Obama administration used an alias? Was it Hillary Clinton? Valerie Jarrett?

If I'm not mistaken Eric Holder had 3 aliases and Obama had at least one .... I imagine they all did ...  [popcorn]
