He claimed she died accidentally, and he had to bury her at sea. Then this happened.

Police on Wednesday identified a headless female torso washed ashore in Copenhagen as that of Swedish reporter Kim Wall, who they believe was killed by a Danish inventor on board his home-made submarine.

Wall, who was researching a story on inventor Peter Madsen, went missing after he took her out to sea in his 17-metre (56-foot) submarine on Aug. 10. He denies killing her, saying she died in an accident.

Announcing the results of tests on the torso, discovered by a passing cyclist on Monday, police spokesman Jens Moller said it had suffered damage suggesting "an attempt to make sure air and gas inside should leave the body so that it would not rise from the seabed." He added: "There was also some metal attached to the body, allegedly also to make sure the body would sink to the bottom."

I read that he first claimed she got off on one of the islands off Denmark, then he went to the unspecified death that required burial at sea story, and is now still claiming innocence after the torso find.

What I don't get is if he scuttled the sub to throw off the authorities (I still don't know why he did that), why didn't he just say she drowned or something while they were abandoning ship? Obviously the corpse would negate that, but he apparently thought he did a good job getting rid of it.

I'm also wondering if he planned this murder or if it was a spur of the moment act of passion for not getting an offshore BJ or something. As bad as his alibis are, I'm going with this being a spur of the moment thing.

He seems kinda dumb, even if he did build a submarine.
He will have lots of time to work on his next submersible plans but probably not much access to building materials or tools for awhile.

I don't think he was a mad scientist. I didn't see anything about a control reporter and submarine. What hypothesis was he testing?

His latest story is, "The hatch fell on her, and as I tried to pull her up, her clothes came off."

He didn't go on to explain why that then required dismembering her, though he did talk a little bit about his kinky side.

Yeah, that rings true...

Not.

An autopsy would be able to determine that fairly conclusively, though, given how tightly carbon monoxide bonds to the body. It stays there for a long time after death, as well.
