Clinton and the FBI back in the news
« on: January 02, 2018, 11:59:22 PM »
The fix was in ... why am I not surprised?

http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/367141-congressional-investigators-find-irregularities-in-fbis-handling-of

Here we go again:

Quote
One storyline that has emerged is that the FBI’s own documents stated there was evidence some laws had been broken, but bureau leaders declined to pursue charges on the grounds they could not prove Clinton and her aides intended to violate the law.

And, once again, the statute she violated is clear-cut, and "intent" is not part of it. (Although I have no doubt that she had every intention of violating the statute anyway.)

And yet, not a single damn thing will come of any of it.

Well, maybe Huma might get thrown under the bus but I ain't gonna hold my breath.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

One interesting thing I saw is they're (including Trump) bringing the kid who took the sub photos back in the news. He got training and knew right from wrong, so I don't sympathize too much with him from the "I did nothing wrong" front, but he IS a good comparison regarding how justice is meted out depending on who you are.

While it's hard to argue that the kid is completely innocent, I think you can argue that gov came down harder on him than what justice called for, especially when compared to what the Clinton gang did.

I don't have too much issue with the guy getting hammered taking pics in the engineering spaces.
I was official ships photographer, including all the high level classified stuff, I had TS/SCI clearance. Even I couldn't wander around engineering with one of the ships Nikon F2s randomly snapping pictures.

My background, like quite a few others here tells me Clinton and crew knew damn good and well what they were doing was illegal as hell, they just didn't care because they knew nothing would ever happen to them.

Exactly. As well as to them, it just wasn't a big deal. "Who cares about those stupid rules?"

The infuriating part to me is that this is so hard to explain to the average American. Those of us who signed the "go to Leavenworth" stuff know how maddening this double standard is. Even lefty people I know who had/have clearances are irked by this, knowing what would happen to them if they pulled a Hillary. However, and I guess it's not the average voter's fault, they simply don't have the knowledge to know what is serious and what is not. Hence things like, "It was just email - big deal".

And then you have moron celebrities who act like they know what they're talking about:

This, the sub kid deserved what he got.

Hillary was intentionally trying to limit what could be FOIA'd later.   Hence, her actions and the fact at least ONE classified document went to and through her unsecured server and e-mail account.  She should have been charged with numerous counts (one for each classified e-mail.  Not chain, but each one.) of violating the mishandling classified info law, along with many, many, many counts (one for each e-mail) of the Records Storage Act.

It's not political retribution, it's having broken the law.

Lets also not forget they recently discovered Huma had been sending classified emails to a personal Yahoo account.

I'm good with Hillary, Huma, Cheryl and everyone else that got or sent a classified e-mail to Hillary going down.   (Yes, that includes Barry).

It also includes that Jarrett person.

And let's not forget that not only did Huma send classified info to a personal e-mail, she sent it to an unsecured laptop computer she shared with her husband, who (as far as I know) didn't have a security clearance, and certainly didn't have a need to know.

The Hill pointed out, one challenge for any Clinton-era investigation is that the statute of limitations on most federal felonies is five years and Clinton left office in early 2013.

I had an assignment once to document a very proprietary manufacturing process, and I had to get a special authorization ("camera pass") in order to use one of the lab's cameras on the assembly line - policy was "no cameras" in the factory. I would have experienced, shall we say, career-limiting consequences had I not followed procedure. It's hard to accept that someone cleared to work on a nuke boat would be less aware of the restrictions there than I was in a civilian job unrelated to the military. (And harder still to accept that a Secretary of State would be unaware of the restrictions on handling classified material.)
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.
