TV series recommendation: Occupied

I can recommend the new Norwegian series currently streaming on Netflix: Occupied.  It is a show set in the near future in which the Green Party has come to power in Norway and stopped oil production, plunging Europe into an energy crisis and depression.  The EU asked Russia to take over Norwegian oil production via a 'silk-wrapped invasion' and armed seizure of the oil infrastructure.  However, the interests of the Russians do not stop with just the oil......

We are halfway through the first season, and it has English subtitles.  A second season is in the works.  Well worth your time.

It is not every day that a Norwegian teevee series is plugged in the 'States.

Speaking of Norway, my solution to the "Syrian Refugee" problem is to ship them all to Norwegian Lapplander territory and tell the Lapps that they are deformed reindeer.

While it's very understandable to not be pleased with refugees and I'm not claiming they're all wonderful people, essentially genocide is not something we want to be advocating on this forum. There's plenty of other places that are more appropriate for that.

I have noticed that they occasionally have English subtitles when the characters are speaking English.

Netflix also has another good Norwegian show, The Heavy Water War, about the Alloed raid in Norway during WWII to shut down German production of heavy water.
