Predictions for Iran deal, WV primary?
« on: May 08, 2018, 11:50:01 AM »
Today, Trump will announce his decision on the Iran deal, and WV will choose their Senate candidates.

Will Blankenship, of "Chinapersons," and "Cocaine Mitch the Swamp Captain" fame win the primary?

Will the Iran deal be entirely scrapped, or just lightly modified?

Or what?

I believe the Iran deal will be modified while a new deal is hammered out. Presently our "friends" in parts of Europe rely too much on Iranian oil. This will allow them to continue getting the oil while a new deal is negotiated.

Speaking of the Iran deal...
What the ever loving hell is John F Kerry doing in Iran? What special status does he have that entitles him to negotiate with foreign powers against the interests and direction of the current president?
Why the *expletive deleted*ck is he not under arrest and his his passport confiscated/revoked?

The older I get the more I am giving credence to the foil hat wearers that talk about "deep-state" and "shadow government" scenarios.  It appears the whole purpose of many people is nothing short of the removal of Trump from office and the roll back of his changes.  =(

Hmmm . . . too bad Obama didn't treat the "deal" as a treaty and ask the Senate to ratify it . . . as he should have . . .

Wouldn't have passed.  Same as the TPP and the Paris Agreement.

Probably, but the Constitution requires that treaties be ratified in the Senate.  The "deal" is a treaty in everything but name and should be treated as such.  Obama's unilateral approach was a lame attempt at bypassing the Constitution, and it's dangerous IMO.

This is the same crap that the Brits and the French did with the Sykes-Picot Agreement ("No, no, it's an 'agreement', not a treaty.").

Mitch McConnell actually posted that to Twitter, due to Blankenship calling him "Cocaine Mitch."

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/25/us/politics/don-blankenship-china-west-virginia.html
Quote
“I read in books that people think he’s soft on China,” he said of Mr. McConnell.

China, as it happens, is a topic of personal interest to Mr. Blankenship. His fiancée, Farrah Meiling Hobbs, was born there….According to the website of an international trading company Ms. Hobbs founded, she is “a former Chinese professional basketball player and part-time model” who moved to the United States in 1996….

“I’m actually considering moving to China or somewhere and being more like George Washington if I can get citizenship,” he said. “I can probably get citizenship in India. I’d rather be in China…”

Ms. Hobbs and Mr. Blankenship formed a business together in 2012, Generator World, to import home generators made in China.

It looks a lot like he’s envious of McConnell’s game, and wants in. His ambition is to be married to a woman of Chinese descent, with ties to international shipping. Just like Cocaine Mitch.

Tangentially related,  but Ohio is rid of that little mutant Dennis Kucinich,  at least for now.  Lost his primary to a Dem that's not (allegedly) a raving communist.

On the Republican side we're stuck with a career moderate,  but that was expected.

Edited to add,  for Governor.
