British carrier pulls into Florida, fun is had by all.

The HMS Queen Elizabeth pulled into Jacksonville, Florida and six sailors ended up arrested for drunk and disorderly with another for trespassing in a pub, so he was probably kicked out and then refused to leave.
I wonder how often British ships pull into the US. And how many sailors it holds, with a carrier there's bound to be some sort of incident.

I love how these two quotes stand at odds with each other.

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage last night said: ‘This is an unfortunate incident and not the standard of behaviour we expect from our RN sailors.’

Former First Sea Lord Admiral Lord Alan West said: 'You might get one or two people behaving badly and that certainly happened in my first 53 years in the navy.’

To me, the cranking on mine is pretty effortless, at least on the coarse setting. Maybe if someone has arthritis or something, it would be more difficult for them." - Ben

I didn't bar scene in Norfolk, but we had Brits a lot, and they had fun. The drinking is probably not the biggest deal, over there you can buy liquor near anywhere, 24/7. They all loved the exchange and commissary. Especially the Russian sailors.

Plus, can't you get alcohol on board Royal Navy ships?

We'll, if rum, sodomy, and the lash are the finest traditions of the Royal Navy ...

No more drinks aboard the Royal Navy vessels.

Killjoys.

I remember doing a CONREP with a Brit frigate passing them gas and snacks and here is some overweight engineer type, coveralls tied at the waist, no shirt, killing a Guinness at 0900 and watching the world go by. Seemed like a better deal than my Navy. I think I made one beer day my entire ten years afloat and several times was out long enough but they weaseled their way out of it. For you poor dry land people, in our Navy an unofficial tradition allows for a beer day after 45 continuous days at sea. On the big decks we usually fired up the grills and made it a party. Two beers per person allowed. Non drinkers had the ability to run quite the black market, but you gotta be slick. They hand you the beers open.

Now, one float, no beer day but we pull in to Agusta Bay to refuel pierside. No liberty, six hour stop. The fun boss went to the pier to sell the beer day cache, $1/beer, limit six per customer. We had our MEU back aboard too, so a total of about three thousand sailors and Marines not on duty. The line got long. Procedure was buy the six pack, go to back of line, drink in line, get to front, repeat. I was perhaps unfortunately the inport Officer of the Deck, theoretically responsible for the shore party's correct conduct and safe return. Well, we got every creative version of permission to come aboard that night. See above, six hour stop and the drinking was only about four of that. Fun boss comes back with a cardboard box containing $34k in cash, small bills.

Our ship had one out of our three deployments. But there were restrictions like you can't drink 8 hours before watch, which meant I only had like an hour window during the middle of my sleep so I ended up just sleeping through it.

In '89 we did an unrep with the USS Orion AS-18 in the Med. At the time it was supposed to have been the first SSN unrep in forever. Kind of a big deal.
We got several cases of warm, non-alcohol beer. ;/
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Occasionally some BAOR would come and train in Baumholder, after several weeks in the field their commanders would turn them loose on the natives and it was like every British soccer hooligan had come to town.  Suddenly American units that would get drunk downtown and fight each other, were suddenly up against Brits who usually wouldn't wait to get drunk to throw down.

Oh, and it was easier to understand German then a drunk (pissed in more ways then one) with a heavy British accent.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.
