banned from THR on a whim
« on: April 24, 2007, 11:06:49 AM »
I question the discretion of one of THR's esteemed moderators, Pax. I was sent a PM about my apparently questionable signature, which was not to be taken seriously. I had not been online in a few days to respond, so it was removed. No harm no foul. When I finally got the PM, I replied with this link:

An hour later I logged in and it says you have been banned for the following reason:

Unprofessional to say the least, this does not represent the character of THR staff I have dealt with in the past. If I cannot get this resolved, it was an honor supporting the 2nd with you guys.

I do not smoke pot, wear Wookie suits, live in my mom's basement, collect unemployment checks or eat Cheetoes, therefore I am not a Ron Paul voter.

I'll leave this thread go for now, but I'll state up front that this isn't a place for anyone to air personal grievances with another board/moderator, even if that board is owned by the same individual.

Join the club.
Actually given what I've heard about THR and a few of the things I've seen there, I'm not missing much.

+1 to what Mike said.

You may have much better luck sending PAX an email.

She is a rather approachable person.

I swear some mods on many forums think that they're Lieutenants and Majors in an Army or something. cheesy They'll ban you for no good reason, then you'll E-mail them stating some technical injustice they've committed and you're gone forever. They'll just ignore you. Ridiculous stuff.

Of course, they'll tell you that "It's a private forum, obey our rules"....ok......I did that. And I still ended up in this situation.  angry

If you get banned, just move on to another forum that doesn't have mods wearing berets every time they get on the computer. grin

With the additional information that she's a woman, I'm reading this as a personal problem. If you could provide an email address that'd be cool, as my IP is banned. this was a private problem made public by an abuse.

The sig read "I like my women like I like my coffee, ground up and in the freezer." read it somewhere else and laughed. if that personally offends you then, to type like Bogie, I_am_sorry, not much offends me. Don't take life so seriously.

Emphasis mine. grin
Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.

Hey, try to chat with her in 5 or 6 days (or mail her a bottle of Midol).

Guess this one is done, no?

Oh, and I consider myself to have a preety good sense of humor, but posting the grounding up on women on a high traffic forum that tries to spread the word that we are not gun toting lunatics, seems somewhat counter productive.

Oh, and "this was a private problem made public by an abuse"?

You're the one that made it public.

You were banned from THR on my request, not on pax's. Your signature -- not clearly evident as sarcastic -- reflected poorly on the forum. A moderator PMed you -- that was an attitude check, which, in the opinion of the moderators, you failed.
