Interesting take from someone tangentially involved ...

Quote
Patrick Byrne: I ended up in the center of the Russian and the Clinton investigations. I have all the answers. I have been sitting on them waiting for America to get there. Last summer I figured out… what they all are is all about political espionage. It had nothing to do with law enforcement, it was all political espionage. Here’s the bottom line. There is a deep state like a submarine working just beneath the waves of the periscope depth watching our shipping lane. And a nuclear ice breaker called the USS Bill Barr has snuck up on them and is about to ram midship.

That’s about to happen and I think we’re about to see the biggest scandal in American history as a result. But it was all political. Everything you think you know about Russia and Clinton investigations is a lie. It’s all a cover-up. It was all political espionage.

David Asman: You think Bill Barr is going to get to the bottom of it.

Patrick Byrne: I think he has gotten to the bottom of it.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Looks like he was questioned by the authorities and by the nature of the questioning he thinks he figured some stuff out.

Why would a CEO have the inside info?

My first guess (before clicking the link) was that he was trying to sell a book.
I was wrong, he's promoting his new cryptocurrency and throwing out some red meat for the MAGA crowd so TV shows will book him.

The official site of doom and gloom picked up the story. A few more tidbits in there.

Someone in the US Govt is willing to stick their neck out and expose bad things?  It would be nice to see the swamp drained a bit, but I won't hold my breath waiting.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bill Barr is every bit as effective in rooting out corruption and getting criminal convictions as Darryl Issa and Trey Gowdy combined.

(Yeah yeah, AG is different than oversight committee chair . . . but both positions supposedly involved investigation of certain types of criminal activity.)

The big scandal that is about to break is that suddenly more people will realize that the actual criminals will never be held to account.

Byrne's August 12 press release drew attention to his three-year relationship with Russian spy Maria Butina, though it wasn't specifically mentioned. He made the statement to reveal his issues with how the federal government handled its case against Butina, The New York Times reported.

The spy's work came to light after her July 2018 arrest. Butina was sentenced to 18 months in prison in April for conspiring to infiltrate the National Rifle Association on behalf of Russia.

The unusual statement led shares to fall as much as 36% from Monday to Wednesday, knocked off $317 million from the company's market cap. The shares soared 17% following news of his resignation.
I heard elsewhere his firing may have had more to do with his relationship with a Russian spy.

I caught part of the interview with Mr. Byrne this morning.  He was talking about how "men in black" came to him and asked him to maintain his relationship with the Russian vixen/spy.

Gotta say, he sounded a little "fruit loops" to me...

So he was having an affair with the Butina woman.

I'm highly skeptical of *everything* about the Russia investigations, but it is entirely possible he's trying to cover his own *ss.

I read an article about his interview on Fox Business channel. I couldn't make heads nor tails out of what he was claiming.

Every day is more and more clown world.

This is very interesting to me. I have seen him interviewed on Fox Business multiple times in the past. At least regarding business and the economy, he has always appeared grounded, intelligent, and rational.

But yes, clown world makes it hard for me to figure if he's making things up or if it really is deep state. Coin toss.

He didn't confirm my biases and muddied the waters a bit. From what I gather the FBI wasn't protecting Hillary so much as gathering blackmail material on her according to him.

The whole spy vs spy thing is tiring and pointless to try and figure out from my vantage point.

Byrne had helped the FBI twice in the past.  Once helping to "catch" the person that murdered a friend of his and the second time a Wall Street situation.  In 2015 he was approached by the Russian honey pot Maria, and began to date her.  The FBI via Peter Strozk asked him to use his connections to help Maria to get close to the Trump, Rubio and Cruz campaigns. He was told it was a matter of national security but came to realize it was political espionage.  He was also asked to help compromise Hilary.  For what purpose I can only speculate.

It is not unheard of for law enforcement to request the assistance of rich folks.  Trump worked w/ law enforcement in NYC while Giuliani was mayor.
