Patrick Byrne: I ended up in the center of the Russian and the Clinton investigations. I have all the answers. I have been sitting on them waiting for America to get there. Last summer I figured out… what they all are is all about political espionage. It had nothing to do with law enforcement, it was all political espionage. Here’s the bottom line. There is a deep state like a submarine working just beneath the waves of the periscope depth watching our shipping lane. And a nuclear ice breaker called the USS Bill Barr has snuck up on them and is about to ram midship. That’s about to happen and I think we’re about to see the biggest scandal in American history as a result. But it was all political. Everything you think you know about Russia and Clinton investigations is a lie. It’s all a cover-up. It was all political espionage. David Asman: You think Bill Barr is going to get to the bottom of it. Patrick Byrne: I think he has gotten to the bottom of it.
Interesting take from someone tangentially involved ... https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2019/08/wow-overstock-ceo-patrick-byrne-fires-off-warning-shot-to-deep-state-bill-barr-is-about-to-break-biggest-scandal-in-american-history-video/
Why would a CEO have the inside info?
My first guess (before clicking the link) was that he was trying to sell a book. I was wrong, he's promoting his new cryptocurrency and throwing out some red meat for the MAGA crowd so TV shows will book him.
There are a lot of people making a lot of money off of Horowitz/Huber/Barr SOON talk.
It wouldn't surprise me if Bill Barr is every bit as effective in rooting out corruption and getting criminal convictions as Darryl Issa and Trey Gowdy combined. (Yeah yeah, AG is different than oversight committee chair . . . but both positions supposedly involved investigation of certain types of criminal activity.)
Byrne's August 12 press release drew attention to his three-year relationship with Russian spy Maria Butina, though it wasn't specifically mentioned. He made the statement to reveal his issues with how the federal government handled its case against Butina, The New York Times reported. The spy's work came to light after her July 2018 arrest. Butina was sentenced to 18 months in prison in April for conspiring to infiltrate the National Rifle Association on behalf of Russia. The unusual statement led shares to fall as much as 36% from Monday to Wednesday, knocked off $317 million from the company's market cap. The shares soared 17% following news of his resignation.
I read an article about his interview on Fox Business channel. I couldn't make heads nor tails out of what he was claiming. Every day is more and more clown world.
The Republic has been gone for awhile now. We're an empire.
