As I said much earlier here...We punish those who commit crimes. They punish innocents in revenge. That does, in fact, make our culture better, and more civilized than theirs. I think any of the rational philosophers and political theorists of the past few millenia, the ones who wrote about civilization and justice, would agree.

But that was obfuscated by an avalanche of strawmen.
