'S*** just didn't line up': Troops dispute Army claim that wind was factor in botched nighttime parachute jump

Quote
One witness on Reddit identified as "al_1776" said 84 members of the unit became stuck in trees after the jump. Witnesses reported multiple medical evacuations were made via helicopter to Forrest General Hospital in nearby Hattiesburg.

The injured paratroopers belong to the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based in Alaska. They have been participating in a 10-day training exercise called Arctic Anvil, which included 650 soldiers jumping into the drop zone.

I thought this looked like an interesting story.  Sounds like someone made a mistake.

A co-worker has a nephew that was a part fo that flusterlcuck.  Word is that it was a higher level screw up.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

So which lower-level scapegoat will take the rap?
