Ham, cheese and...

yellow tomato sammich for lunch.

So damned good.

And the yellow tomato wasn't one of the best, either.

My neighbor is keeping me well supplied with cherry and grape tomatoes, red and yellow, and the occasional larger yellow tomato. I've missed vine fresh tomatoes so much.

I made some gnocchi with broccoli and halved cherry and grape tomatoes with olive oil and lemon sauce last night for dinner. I'd have seared shrimp to go with it, but I forgot to get shrimp... Just may well have it again tonight for dinner it was that good.

An old friend of the family used to just love it when I took him fresh tomatoes from the garden, esp the big beafsteaks. He sliced them and had them on toast with peanut butter. Didn’t sound good to me but after he died I decided to try it his way. Pretty damn good.
Later tried it with crisp bacon and peanut butter, even better! We named the sandwich after the old guy and in the summer we honor him with a “Howard”.

In my own constant battle to control my weight, I don't go out of my way to get food I like.

I'm no epicure;I like yummy food, but I don't like its effects.  Once upon a time long ago and 30-40 pounds overweight, I wanted to buy a pound of butter.  Then I realized the volume of that one pound (1/2 a quart) and imagined that on my body.  Then I imagined 30-40 of those 1-pound butter packages on my body:  3.75 to 5 gallons of volume on my bod.

I haven't had any butter in my house since then.

Extend the concept.
