I sure have voted for a lot sorry Republicans.

Which, sadly, were still marginally better than the Democrat alternative.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Perot for president

I was too young to care at the time, but it turns out Ross Perot was anti-gun and for abortion and medicare for all:

I was opposed to Romney up until the moment came to "pull the lever".

The f'n anyone other than Obama mindset prevailed.

Romney is an even bigger snake than I thought.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Sadly, I did the same thing.

Not exactly how I remember it. Concerns were different though at the time. Just a couple examples, carry permits/licenses whatever in most states were not shall issue at the time and the fight over abortion was a lot more about the first trimester than the third back then. So context is important. That said I looked at that site and many of the citations seem to be this person said that was that persons stance or snippets of quotes. Also trying to equate quotes and statements from then to policies today which could be a large stretch. I think that site is mostly hogwash upon reviewing it.

You have to also remember that as far as guns, there were three choices. Bush, Clinton and Perot. Bush and Clinton were both anti-gun, so was Reagan to a great extent. Gun rights then mostly centered around hunting/sporting.

Bush and Clinton were also not far apart on abortion either, Bush was supposedly against it, but not complete ban as I recall and Clinton pretended to be personally against or maybe really was, but didn’t want it illegal. The famous or infamous legal but rare quote comes to mind.
