Luckygunner.com, along with its owners, Red Stag, have been listed as additional defendants in the amended lawsuit, which claims Red Stag mailed the ammunition via FedEx without requiring an adult to sign for the package. Neither Luckygunner.com nor Red Stag responded to requests from the Houston Chronicle for comment.

Everytown Law, the legal arm for Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, a nationwide group, filed the petition on behalf of Abdul Aziz Sheikh and Farah Naz, the parents of Sabika Sheikh, who arrived as an exchange student last August.

I am pretty sure this is new information.  I hadn't heard the shooter ordered ammo online.  Just about every online ammo dealer I have used has an age verification check box somewhere.

I don't recall ever signing for ammo

How is not having an adult sign for the package illegal? Is that a state by state thing? My ammo is always left at the front door, or if I'm outside, the UPS guy just hands it to me.

My state is about as strict as any, and I've never had to sign for ammunition. Since our laws were tightened up post-Sandy Hook, I now have to send the vendor a copy of my carry permit and driver's license as verification that I'm not prohobited from buying ammo, but I still don't have to sign for delivery -- and I didn't have to sign before the laws changed.

And while a seller can require a signature all they want a lot of the time the delivery driver still leaves the item(s) without getting it.

But wait, there's more

“FedEx shipped the ammo to a guy’s house, without a signature. Why doesn’t FedEx have a policy that we have to verify signatures and ages for deliveries of ammunition?” asked [Rhonda] Hart.

FedEx did not respond to a request for comment.

Hart also thinks gift cards such as those used from American Express should not be able to be used to purchase ammunition.

“Why can you buy so much ammunition online with a burner credit card?” she said. “Why didn’t that trigger a red flag?”

American Express also did not respond to a request for comment for this story.

“Your policies are bad,” said Hart, addressing the companies involved. “Your profit seems more important than human lives.”

I've had ammo (and alcohol) that required age verification & signature on delivery.
I've also had USPS leave a handgun in my mailbox.
Kinda hit or miss.

Idiot. I'm sorry she lost her daughter, but that's not an excuse to fabricate a lawsuit against entities who were NOT responsible for the shooting. And calling Lucky Gunner's sale "illegal" is a fabrication.

Federal law does not require ammunition sellers to verify if a buyer is of legal age to purchase ammunition.

I recently found out the US Post Office will delivery firearms to FFL dealers.  A home FFL I deal with told me he had the USPS leave a priority mail box leaning up against his mail box on the side of the road and it contained a registered NFA item.  What I ordered, the USPS made him go pick it up at the post office.

When I bought ammo online, they had you show a scan of your driver's license to "prove" you are old enough to buy ammo.  They didn't require signature for delivery though.

AIM Surplus did that when I first ordered ammo from them.  I am not sure if they still do or they still have my info on file.
