New Delivery Time Definitions for Amazon?
« on: October 11, 2020, 12:18:35 PM »
I've not seen this before. Maybe it's "covid and 2020 sucks" related and maybe not. I have three times now ordered something that showed one day Prime shipping. When I get to checkout, there is then a blurb that says something like, "One day Prime delivery after the item is shipped" and then a delivery estimate that's like a week out.

I canceled my Prime membership. It’s not worth these shipping games these days.

everything takes about a week now.

Had a few issues earlier in the year but I nearly 100% of the time get my stuff in a day or two unless it's a coffee order, for some reason they keep losing coffee orders. Could be the supplier on that though

It's been hit or miss on one and two day Prime shipping since the beer virus got spun up.  At least some Prime items show up honestly as being a week or more out before the ship date.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.

I get anything that Amazon has on a distribution center in one or two days, reliably.

Third part vendors are a coin toss.

I've had a few surprises. Order on a Saturday afternoon and it's delivered less than 24 hours later. Order on a Monday morning and it take 7-10 days to show up. all from "Sold by Amazon".
All depends on what it is and where it's at.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

If I order an instock Prime shipping heating element it says it will arrive Friday. I can track it and it will sit at the warehouse until Wednesday and then get sent two day. I've watched it with many parts this summer.

I should add that I still get plenty of stuff next day, but I've not before seen them claim "next day" service but then have that caveat about "one day delivery after shipment" on some items.

Lately, a lot of things take 3 or 4 days (which is reasonable, just not the 1 or 2 days advertised)  They will sit on an order for several days, and then send it express overnight    They must get some huge discounts on shipping rates.
"It's good, though..."
